There was a great deal of talk going around last week about how iOS 7 beta drains down the battery of the iPhone 4S after making the update. Tests showed that the Apple iPhone 4S was badly affected, while the Apple iPhone 5 not.
The battery life of the Apple iPhone 5 was prefect, while that of the Apple iPhone 4S drained down very fast. The article received a lot of comments from people who were suffering from battery drain. The good news is that we found a way to get around it.
We have looked at iOS beta 7 for a long time and we reached the conclusion that there is a great deal of difference when it comes to the battery life. People saw this when iOS 6 was released last year.
It seems that the battery drain issue is not down to hardware, it happens when updating to such as iOS 6 or iOS 7 beta.
The battery drain was not so bad on the Apple iPhone 5; however the same cannot be said about the Apple iPhone 4S. This may have been down to luck more than anything else. The battery drain does seem to happen randomly and it is dependent on the installation. However there is a way to get around this.
While you can stop the battery drain issues, this is something that Apple needs to fix as you should not have to worry about it.
First you should back up your device and then make a clean installation of iOS 6 in DFU mode. You should hold down the Sleep/Wake button along with the Home button. Keep them pressed in until you see recovery mode, which iTunes will tell you that you are in.
You then need to go ahead and install iOS 6 and then follow this with the update to iOS 7. You can then restore your date. You are also able to downgrade, providing you backed up in iTunes.
The issue with the battery drain on the iPhone 4S seems to drain the battery in just hours. However if you make a clean installation, you can get away without having to suffer.
