The release of the Apple iPad Mini did come as quite a surprise as Steve Jobs said that the world did not need a smaller version of the Apple iPad. When pressure came from Google and the Nexus 7 along with the Samsung Galaxy Note, Apple had to do something about it.
The Apple iPad Mini has enjoyed great reviews and it is thought that Apple will reveal the Apple iPad Mini 2.
So we have looked at the rumours about the specs, price and release date.
There have been rumours about every single month for the launch of the Apple iPad Mini 2. These have been wrong as we are now in September and it hasn’t arrived. But if the tablet is to arrive this year then it narrows it down somewhat.
As Apple usually launches new products with a new OS, it may be coming soon as iOS 7 will be launching soon.
There has been a lot of talk about the display of the new iPad Mini, whether it will be retina or not. The iPad Mini has a somewhat low resolution of 1024 x 768, the Nexus 7 comes with a resolution of 1280 x 800.
The new version of the Nexus 7 has a display of 1920 x 1200, so Apple will have to up theirs.
It has been said that the Apple iPad Mini will be along the same design as the Apple iPad 5. Therefore we don’t think the Apple iPad Mini 2 will be much different when it comes to looks than the first mini tablet.
There have been rumours that the Apple iPad Mini 2 would have around the same cost as the iPad Mini did when it launched. So it could be around £269 for the Wi-Fi 16GB version and £429 for the 64GB. This may mean that the 128GB version would come in at around £509.
