All of the tablets are thought to be making their way out sometime this year. The first gen of all the above were popular. The Nexus 7 was the first device to be released and it has done well. The Apple iPad Mini and the Kindle Fire HD then came out. So what are the rumours surrounding the 2nd gen tablets?
None of the tablets have yet been confirmed, so we have shown images of the current versions. However thanks to rumours and leaks, we are able to get an idea about the upcoming tablets.
It is looking as though Asus will be behind the Google Nexus 7 once again. There has been price drops on the current version and this could be an indication that there is another version on the way. The Nexus 7 2nd gen could come out later on the month.
It is thought that the Apple iPad Mini may come out in September. It should be out in time for Christmas and the Kindle Fire HD could appear at the same time.
For hardware all tablets will be updated with new specs. The Nexus 7 2nd gen is said to have a display of 7 inches and this will be 1080p, this is updated from the 720p display. Many people are hoping that the Apple iPad Mini 2 will come with a retina display of 7.9 inches. However some people don’t think that this will happen. The Kindle HD Fire is thought to have a display of 1900 x 1200 and this could be 7 inches.
It has been said that the Nexus 7 2 could have the Qualcomm 600 Snapdragon quad core processor, while the Kindle Fire HD 2 and the Apple iPad Mini 2 could have processors that are equally as impressive. 4G LTE could also be found on the other tablets.
When it comes to software the Google Nexus 7 2nd gen could come with Jelly Bean 4.3 which has recently been leaked. This will bring owners the pure Android experience.
The Apple iPad Mini 2 would arrive with iOS 7 in the fall and it will come with many new features. The Kindle Fire HD 2 should also have Android, however it is not thought to be 4.3. The tablet will also have a skin on top.
The price will have to be taken into account and possibly the prices will be around the same as they were last year. The Nexus 7 along with the Kindle Fire HD came in at $199. Apple will perhaps sell the Apple iPad Mini 2 for around $329.
