iPhone 5 Jailbreak Sneak Attack: Let iOS 6.1.3 Go, iOS 7 Is Where It’s At

iOS 6.1.3 was revealed by Apple some time back and even now there are some people asking about what the device offers and it there is a jailbreak for it, along with what’s happening with iOS 7. So here are the answers to some of those questions.

When iOS 6 was revealed last year it came with many new features and there was an overhaul of the interface. Then revisions came out for it and updates that have fixed some bugs. If you want to boost the security of your device then you may wish to go ahead and install it. On the other hand if you want to jailbreak your handset then you may wish to avoid the update.

iOS 6.1.3 has been jailbroken technically but it hasn’t been released to the public so as to not expose the exploits used to Apple engineers. As you would already know, the Apple iPhone 5 has proven harder to jailbreak as teams try to jailbreak their own handsets first and reprogram features. A member of the Evasi0n jailbreak team said that they will not be offering the jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 thanks to it being hard to jailbreak and the fact that the update has only been a minor one. They also think that Apple will reveal iOS 7 very soon and so they want to keep the exploits they already have for this. So at the moment owners of the Apple iPhone 5, 4S and 4 owners are left in limbo waiting.

iOS 7 could make an appearance in June, which would mean that this could be the last version we see of iOS 6. This would depend on Apple and what they have in plan for hardware, along with whether any issues of security come up.
