The launching of Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system had smartphone manufacturers racing with one another to be the first to provide the update for their Android running gadgets. It seems like HTC and Motorola are the most enthusiastic among all the manufacturers. Different from HTC and Motorola, it looks like Samsung is taking its time to release the Android 4.4 KitKat update even for its flagship smartphones.
We have to admit that Samsung has a lot of smartphones waiting in line for the update. According to iTechAddict, the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4 will be pushed starting January and standing next in line for the update are the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which will start receiving the update in April.
However, rather than putting any hope in this information, you should just consider it as nothing more than just another speculation as Samsung had not announced anything regarding the update release date. Still, we are left to wonder if the update would apply to all of the carries or not this is due to the fact that Samsung had halted the updates for AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S4.
I personally think that is already time for Samsung to change the TouchWiz UI since it had been complained a lot. The TouchWiz UI does slow down the Samsung smartphones significantly. Supposedly the Android 4.4 KitKat would change this though, as it is said to give devices a speedier and smoother overall performance.
