Fans of Skyrim have been waiting to hear about a new DLC for the game. The rumour was that it was supposed to be Redguard. The suspense was killing some people, but finally Bethesda has spoken out and what they said hasn’t pleased all fans. It seems that Bethesda has had enough of Skyrim and they want to move on.
In a statement on their blog they said that they were moving to another game and would not be bringing out another DLC for Skyrim. Perhaps the new game will make its way to the PS4 and Xbox 720. So therefore there is no such thing as Redguard by way of a DLC for Skyrim.
After Dragonborn was revealed fans waited to hear about a new DLC, however it is now clear that this was the last DLC. If fans want some new content they will have to make do with Steam Workshop and Creation Kit now.
While Bethesda says that they are moving to another adventure, they did say that they would offer minor updates and support for Skyrim. They said they made the decision as working on a new title needed the full attention of the team.
Both Dragonborn and Dawnguard were superb additions to Skyrim and fans have been caught by surprise that the end has come for their journey into Solstheim. Perhaps fans would have been happy enough to get smaller packs, such as those offered for Oblivion. However it is not looking as though this is to happen and the journey to Skyrim ends here.
When fans get past the shock they will welcome a new game. Bethesda could be taking to the stage at the E3 where they may announce Fallout 4. This may be coming to the next generation of consoles, along with the PC.
So what do you think about Bethesda quitting Skyrim DLCs and moving on?
